All-New 2027 Hyundai Tucson: Hyundai’s Boldest SUV Yet Is Coming to Riverdale
The Hyundai Tucson has been one of the most popular compact SUVs on the road for years. Now it is getting its biggest change yet. Hyundai calls the all-new fifth-generation Tucson “our boldest SUV yet,” and after one look, it is easy to see why.
The new Tucson made its global debut in New York. The all-new Tucson and Tucson Hybrid will launch in the U.S. in early 2027. That means drivers in Riverdale, Jonesboro, Morrow, and the rest of the South Metro Atlanta area will not have to wait long to see it in person.
At SouthTowne Hyundai of Riverdale, we are excited to share what Hyundai has revealed so far. Here is a closer look at the design, the cabin, the tech, and the rugged XRT PRO model that has everyone talking.
A Bolder Look With Hyundai’s “Art of Steel” Design
The first thing you will notice about the 2027 Tucson is its shape. Hyundai says the fifth-generation Tucson is “larger, bolder and edgier” than before. It gets more angular with Hyundai’s “Art of Steel” design language.
What does that look like? Think muscular fenders, crisp body lines, and a wider stance. The new Tucson looks planted and strong, even when it is parked. Hyundai sums it up with three short phrases: “Strength in a stance. Refinement in a finish. Confidence multiplied.”
On the Limited trim, slim headlights and taillights make those sharp angles stand out even more. Hyundai says they give the Tucson a more “futuristic look.” If you like a vehicle that turns heads in the parking lot, this is one to watch.
Bigger Than Before
The new Tucson is not just bolder. It is also bigger. According to Hyundai, the all-new Tucson is:
- About 2.3 inches longer than the current model
- About 1.6 inches wider than the current model
- About 185 inches long and 75 inches wide overall
- Built on a 109.6-inch wheelbase
Hyundai also widened the rear door opening to 83 degrees. That is a small detail that makes a big difference in daily life. It can make it easier to buckle kids into car seats, help an older passenger climb in, or load bags onto the back seat.

Next-Generation Hybrid Power and the Rugged XRT PRO
Under the bold new body, Hyundai says the Tucson is “driven by a Next-generation Hybrid System.” The all-new Tucson Hybrid will launch alongside the gas-powered Tucson in early 2027. Hyundai has not yet released horsepower or fuel economy numbers for the new model. We will share those details as soon as Hyundai does.
What we do know is how Hyundai describes the driving feel: “TUCSON responds to your every bold instinct.”
Meet the Tucson Hybrid XRT PRO
For drivers who like to get off the beaten path, Hyundai is also showing the Tucson Hybrid XRT PRO. Hyundai calls it “Adventure in the rough and tumble.” It has “all the sophistication of a TUCSON Hybrid, and dares to go bolder.”
The XRT PRO stands out with:
- Blacked-out exterior details
- XRT PRO-exclusive patterned seats
- Dark-metal trim
Hyundai says the XRT PRO “hits all the right notes for big adventure.” It is a great fit for weekend trips to the North Georgia mountains or a day at the lake.
A Completely Reimagined Cabin
Hyundai’s message for the inside of the new Tucson is simple: “Step inside, and meet your boldest self.”
The all-new Tucson introduces a completely reimagined cabin. It also gets a brand-new infotainment user interface. Here is what Hyundai has shared about the tech so far:
- A bigger and better touchscreen. The new screen has faster processing and sharper graphics, so maps, music, and menus should look clearer and respond more quickly.
- An available AI-powered voice assistant. Hyundai says it is designed to “help enhance everyday usability.” In plain terms, that means you can use your voice to get more done while keeping your eyes on the road.
- PleosConnect. Hyundai says the new Tucson is “powered by PleosConnect.” This is the system behind the new infotainment experience.
The goal is a cabin that feels modern and easy to use every day. Whether you are commuting up I-75, heading to Hartsfield-Jackson, or running errands around Clayton County, a smarter screen and voice assistant can make each drive a little smoother.
